In the spring of 2020, when the world slowed down and we were all spending more time at home, I found myself doing something familiar to many—staring at my stuff and wondering how I could improve the design. That curiosity led me to discover the ancient art of Feng Shui (pronounced “Fung Shway”), and I’ve been captivated ever since.

Feng Shui revealed something powerful: the flow and energetics of our homes are often a mirror of our lives. I loved that something as simple as moving a chair or clearing a corner could shift how I felt—not just about my space, but about myself. Small changes can lead to big transformations, and that’s the beauty of this practice.

What I Offer

What started as a personal journey has grown into something I now share with others. I teach workshops at Power Yoga Fort Wayne and offer one-on-one consultations for those who want to dive deeper into their own homes and lives through the lens of Feng Shui.

What Makes This Practice Unique?

I like this approach to living because it starts small and encourages the practitioner to get very curious about their lives. Feng Shui uses a tool called the bagua, which divides the home and life into nine areas:

  • Wealth & Abundance
  • Recognition & Inspiration
  • Love & Relationships
  • Growth & Family
  • Health & Harmony
  • Reflection & Creativity
  • Travel & Alignment
  • Career & Life Path
  • Insight & Self-Cultivation

Even the smallest adjustment in one of these areas can help shift your perspective and energy. It’s not just about rearranging your home—it’s about realigning with your own life path.

Resources I Recommend

There are so many incredible voices in the world of Feng Shui. Some of my personal favorites include:

  • Anjie Cho and Laura Morris of Mindful Design
  • Amanda Gibby Peters
  • Terah Kathryn Collins

Whether you’re a skeptic, a beginner, or just someone who loves making their home feel more aligned, I encourage you to give it a try. Start small. Stay curious. You might be surprised where it takes you.

Most Rewarding Moment

For me, the magic happens when a client has that aha moment—when they discover how they’re experiencing a certain area of their life and realize they have the power to change it. This practice is rooted in empowerment: shifting from waiting or wishing for something to happen, to actively creating the environment and energy that supports your goals.

Align & Connect

We just wrapped up a fun Feng Shui Spring Cleaning Bingo Challenge at Power Yoga Fort Wayne, and there’s more to come! Be on the lookout for upcoming workshops, and if you're ready to explore your own home’s potential, I’d love to work with you one-on-one.

I also write a newsletter on Substack called Field Trip Friday—a space where I share not only Feng Shui insights, but also other businesses, experiences and places that I love. It’s a mix of inspiration, energy, and joy. You can subscribe at fieldtripfriday.substack.com.
